Kevin is an incredible mechanic and runs a very honest shop. I go to him for all of my car maintenance needs. He goes out of his way to look for reasonable ways to cut down your costs. My personal experience with him is that I needed my transmission rebuilt. He sent my car to a third-party for the rebuild and the cost at the end was higher than originally quoted. Kevin offered to cut his own prices so that I could pay the cost that I originally expected to pay. In a world where big corporations are always trying to nickel and dime you, Kevin's customer-centric business is a breath of fresh air!

Our car wouldn't start as we were trying to drive out of town at 4pm. He was super helpful when we called and we were able to get the car towed to his shop that evening. He even stayed after to be there when we dropped off the car which we did not expect. 10:30 the next morning and we're already on the road. It was a quick fix fortunately and he even replaced my key fob battery which I'd neglected to replace for a while. It was a best case scenario and we are glad to have found a local shop we can trust.

I put out a plea on Facebook asking if anyone knew of a mechanic that could work on the transmission for my 2011 Nissan Maxima. The shop we normally use had checked it out and said I needed to replace the transmission and estimated the cost at $4500 - $5500. I called other shops for prices and was told the same. A friend on Facebook messaged me and raved about Kevin at Oak City Car Care and gave me his number. My husband was reluctant to go to a new mechanic but decided to call him anyway and had a great conversation with Kevin. We brought my car in and Kevin checked it out and said he was not convinced we needed a new transmission. He worked on my car and replaced the stepper motor, checked sensors and a few other things and charged a fraction on the cost we were quoted to replace the transmission! The whole experience working with Kevin was the best we've ever had at ANY auto repair shop! He is sincere, honest, and knows his stuff, and is now our go-to mechanic! By the way, he did this work for us three months ago. I postponed leaving this review so I could honestly say Kevin fixed my car! I've had no issues with the transmission and it continues to run beautifully! With that said, I HIGHLY recommend Kevin and his Oak City Car Care shop to you. You'll be very happy you found him!

Absolutely the best place in the Triangle to take your vehicle. I had a check engine light that was throwing multiple codes, I can do some repairs myself. With my work schedule I didn't have time for this so I booked an appointment just 2 days out. I was expecting to have to replace multiple expensive EVAP parts. With their vast experience they determined it was just a faulty ground wire. Most places would have just recommended a bunch of costly repairs in parts and time. Thank you for taking the time to save me money Oak City Car Car. Super honest and trustworthy!

Highly recommend this shop! Kevin, the owner, is very knowledgeable and very clear in his explanations of what's happening with the car. He communicated clearly on what the issue was, what the fix was, and the cost before he did anything. He took his time to really understand why the air conditioning compressor was not working correctly rather than just recommending a brand new compressor immediately. I know with certainty other garages would have just recommended the full replacement and I would've spent a whole lot more! Can't say enough good things about this shop and highly recommend for your car care needs.

Kevin had been working on my 2014 Toyota Sienna. He did a great job fixing the problems that my old car had . It runs very smooth now. I find their prices to be reasonable and the turnaround time is fast. Best of all, he provides an estimate upfront, as well as follow up with me after the work has been completed. I am happy to find a reliable auto mechanic. I could trust him with my family's other cars. He is friendly and knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anybody.
